What each update said
September 22, 2026 — Demo removal
The studio pulled the demo, citing remaining issues and a gap between the demo and the finished game: it did not want new players to judge Cohen 1939 by the demo build. The same post reiterated the September 29 launch and said final tweaks and tests were underway.
August 26, 2026 — Launch date set
The launch announcement locked in September 29 (PT), described the story setup — the murder of the Raven gang's leader and his widow Elisa's campaign of vengeance — and listed the four killer playstyles: slide-shooting, pure focus, raven summons and burning rage.
June 17, 2026 — The save-wipe patch
A maintenance patch with real consequences for demo players: Steam Cloud saves from the pre-demo playtest prevented the Next Fest build from running, so saves were wiped and everyone started over. The same patch fixed a character skill (Sevinda), leaderboard pagination and text ghosting, a level content issue, missing multilingual dialogue, plus smaller additions like a settings-menu exit confirmation.
June 15, 2026 — Steam Next Fest
The demo joined Next Fest with a refreshed content description: Chapters 1 and 2, an estimated 1-2 hours, three playable characters, six levels, one boss battle.
May 22, 2026 — Demo launch
The demo went live and the playtest was taken offline. It introduced the three core features that define the game: one-hit-kill gunfights, Snatch-and-Kill weapon switching (throw your empty gun to stun, take theirs), and a choice between silent kills and lured traps.
What to expect from here
Post-launch, this page will track patches the same way — but the studio has published no roadmap or patch cadence, so there is nothing to predict yet. Everything above is sourced from the game's own Steam news hub and store page.
